Ethical dilemmas in nursing research must be addressed promptly in order to ensure patient safety, as well as a satisfactory end result of each situation for both parties. One of the main ethical dilemmas faced in nursing research stems from a conflict of interest between the researcher and the patient. The researchers and the organization or organizations that fund the research are working to get the data that they need in order to complete their project, and with luck, be able to turn that research data into a lucrative product down the line.
